about clique mixer

"it's what you do after happy hour, and before the club"

Hello, my name is Jessica Kane...

I started CLIQUE MIXER in Portland, OR in the Fall of 2008 as a way to get out of the house and have a girls night out. I had just had a baby in September of 2008 and was feeling a bit cooped up in the house, and needed a girls night out like no-bodies business! I had a lot of contacts and friends since I had just come off of the success from laughing the #1 Fahion E-Magazine for plus size ladies called SKORCH with Carrie Woomer. At the time, we were no longer doing the magazine (but it's back up today! www.skorchmag.com), so I REALLY needed something to channel my entreprenuerial spirit into.

At first CLIQUE MIXERS was really just a simple gathering of friends, but then the emails and requests came flooding in from all over the country. Women, just like me, wanted a CLIQUE MIXER in their town as well - they didn't want to miss out! There was no way I was going to be able to fly around the country hosting CLIQUE MIXERS, so I decided to kick my past direct selling experience into action and I branched out CLIQUE MIXERS across the country by contracting "CLIQUE DIRECTORS" to host them for me. Every director is an independent contractor with the freedom and flexability to really grow the CLIQUE MIXER in her area.

I feel the genius behind this idea is that we are full-filling a need, simple as that.
Business women NEED to find new clients and the everyday lady NEEDS a girls night out!

We have to change our way of thinking, and we have to be more creative. So, instead of selling a Tupperware bowl or a necklace, we are selling space to business women to interact with potential customers – kind of like a mini trade show. We keep the booth at $35 so it's cost effective and that way the attendees never get charged.

I do feel this is the “next big thing” for ladies who are looking to make money and use their experience that isn’t getting them a “job” right now. If you have marketing and sales experience, like myself, and really enjoy building your network, this is the entrepreneurial opportunity you've been looking for.

Support your local CLIQUE MIXER Directors!

And, see you at the next CLIQUE MIXER!

xoxo,
Jessica Kane
